ASHLEY REBECCA KING is a Pittsburgh native and current NYC resident. A graduate of Marymount Manhattan's Theatre program in New York City, Ashley has collaborated with various artists, performance groups, and theatre festivals around the country. She is one half of the comedy, song-writing duo Portz and King, and has co-written and performed several full-length cabaret shows. Their latest creation, "IN A POLYNESIAN MOOD," played to sold-out audiences at the Peoples Improv Theater in February 2010, and was featured as a "Critics' Pick" in Time Out New York magazine. Ashley considers herself neither "infinite, 'with-it' nor wise," but she is the maker of "PIGEONS..." and takes full responsibility for the music, lyrics and book... for what it's worth. She would like to thank her mother for her love of classic musicals, her father for his love of the rest, her siblings and Pittsburgh pals for putting up with her "I LOVE MUSICALS" phase, her college family for putting up with her "I HATE MUSICALS" phase, and Graham McCarty for simultaneously performing every single character during the entire creative process, when she was still too afraid to show it to anyone else. "PIGEONS" is her first full length musical. To find out more about Ashley and view her acting resume, please visit her website, ashleyrebeccaking.weebly.com.
